UNDERSTANDING WHAT YOU ARE ATTEMPTING TO DO USING 3D

hr

It just 'makes sense' to give yourself as many advantages as possible BEFORE you begin spending a LOT of money and 'hoping' everything is going to be as you imagined.  Designing in 3D with WALLY WESTBROOK DESIGNS doesn't cost any more than what you would pay others to design your project (residential or commercial).  We are finding, many times, that our fees are lower than others who DON'T use 3D.

As one who has built around 2,000 homes, I will never forget, years ago, rounding the corner of a 'spec' home I was building.  I had the most awful feeling....  Only minutes had gone by from the time I left the framers until I rounded that corner in my Suburban....but there was enough time for the framers to start putting up the roof.  WOW!!!  I did NOT realize that the pitch on the plan was going to be 'so low' when built in real life.  I remember thinking, "I can't leave it this way......it'll never sell!!!"  So, I got with the framing contractor and asked him what he would charge me to re-do the roof with a steeper pitch.  (He had only started so it wasn't as bad as it could have been.)  The charge to take down what he had put up and rebuild the roof with the STEEPER pitch was going to cost me $500 (in today's terms that would be $1,500-$2,000).  But, I had to re-order longer rafter material so he could make the change.  I lost a day of production which cost me a day of interest that I wouldn't have had to pay if I had not made that mistake.  I am reflecting back on something 35 years ago, when I was brand new in the business.  So, I can only guestimate that change cost between $2,000 to $3,500.

Today, anyone who can find someone to design for them in 3D 'just may have found the guy or gal who can actually SAVE them a lot of money.'
